I'm Nathan.

I teach private music lessons out of New Jersey, online and in person. This is just where my students and their parents sign in to see what we worked on, what to practice next, and what's coming up.

Lessons are one on one. We move at your pace, and we work on songs you actually want to play.

Six things, mostly.

Pick whichever one you want to focus on. Some students do two.

Voice

Finding your voice, breath, pitch, getting comfortable singing in front of people.

Acoustic guitar

Chords, strumming, fingerpicking, learning to play and sing at the same time.

Electric guitar

Rhythm, lead, tone, figuring out your gear, learning the songs you love.

Bass guitar

Locking in with the drums, root motion, walking lines, playing what the song needs.

Drums

Keeping time, dynamics, playing to a click, learning to feel the song.

Keys

Chords and voicings, accompanying yourself or a band, basic theory along the way.

Most weekends, on a stage.

I've been leading worship in churches for years. Weekly services, retreats, conferences, the works. A lot of what I teach comes out of that: how to sing and play at the same time, how to count a band in, when to play less, how to actually serve the song instead of showing off.

The other half of the job.

I record and mix from a home studio. Independent artists, worship teams, friends with a song in their head and no idea where to start. If a student wants to track something they've been working on, we do it. It's the fastest way to actually hear yourself.

The boring useful part.

Every lesson gets logged here. You'll see what we covered, what to practice, and what's been paid. Parents can check on their kid without having to text me every week. Nothing leaves this site.
